Bodybuilding

Bodybuilding is now a very popular sport. Going to the gym is part of the daily routine for millions of people. However, using weights to tone up is quite different from bodybuilding. The bodybuilder strives for a physique where each muscle is perfectly defined. Exercises using weights and gym equipment are used repetitively to build muscle. Muscle mass is increased by pushing the muscle to its limit and overloading it.

Although through bodybuilding an individual may experience weight gain, this is caused by increased muscle mass, not fat. Bodybuilders often have very low body fat and follow diets that complement their training. Bodybuilding is a highly competitive sport with many high profile competitions for people to enter.
